About William :
My love of photography began at a very early age. Growing up in my small southern Illinois town, I’d spend every weekend at my great-grandmas house where she’d always pull multiple large bins from under her bed full of vintage photographs ranging from the early 20’s to late 80’s. She had an incredible memory and stories to tell for each and every photo I’d pick up. She taught me the importance and power of an image and how it can carry on a memory for generations. Because she chose to capture so much of her life through these photos, I was able to add a visual history to the incredible life she lived and the stories she loved to share.
From then on I felt it was my duty to also start capturing memories, not only for myself but for my friends and family. I wanted to capture moments that would make people smile for a lifetime. When I graduated high school in 2016 I knew that continuing to create was what I was meant to do. I booked a one way flight to Los Angeles, CA to pursue that passion farther and push the limits of how far I could go. One evening in 2018 I went to go see a show at the Whisky a Go-Go and decided to bring my camera with me. That was a decision that changed my life. I quickly fell in love with concert photography immediately after the first click of my newly purchased DSLR Nikon D3100. The excitement of not knowing what you were going to capture next kept my adrenaline pumping. I then went onto attend shows weekly at the Whisky, which led to a growing portfolio and larger concerts to shoot. Photoshoots are fun, but capturing real raw moments felt so incredible. Photography has taken me farther than I could have ever imagined and I feel beyond grateful. I’ve now gone on to shoot events for foundations, shows, wildlife, and much more. Capturing beautiful moments for others has becoming my greatest passion project and something I hope to be doing for decades to come.
